             The 72
nd Independence Day of India was celebrated today in the Embassy of India, Riyadh with great joy and enthusiasm.  Ambassador Ahmad Javed hoisted the National Flag followed by rendition of National Anthem and patriotic songs by the family members of the Embassy officials. 

 

2. Ambassador Ahmad Javed read out the President’s Message to the audience. The event was attended by over 700 Saudis, members of Indian community, friends of India and officials of the Mission.

 

3. While addressing the audience, Ambassador extended sincere thanks and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman and the Saudi authorities for their valuable support and bestowing the ‘Guest of Honour’ status to India in the privileged Saudi National Festival of Heritage and Culture-Janadriyah 2018; and granting necessary permission to hold the International Day of Yoga celebrations at Al-Mudi park of the King Abdulaziz Historical Centre, Riyadh on June 21, 2018.

 

4. On the occasion, Ambassador also presented Plaque of Appreciation to the Saudi Yoga Trainers (i) Ms, Nora Saad Al-Wayli, (ii) Ms. Reem Ibrahim Al-Arfaj, (iii) Abdullah Al-Abdan, the Manager of al-Madi Park, King Abdulaziz Historical Centre, and (iv) Eng. Mohammad Abdul Hameed, Project Director at Arriyadh Development Authority, for their valuable contribution to the successful organization of United Nations’ proclaimed “International Day of Yoga” on June 21, 2018 at the historical al-Madi Park in Riyadh.
